Paint the TownContinuing with an established tradition, Arts Connect will hold the 8th annual plein air event "Paint the Town" on Saturday, 29th June, 2019.
Beginning at 8:00am with check-in and late registration at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, artists will have their canvases stamped, receive an information packet and a box lunch. Finished, wall-ready work will be turned in at 2:00pm and hung and judged in time for the Opening Reception. All work will be for sale and exhibited in the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center for six weeks. There will be an Opening Reception for artists, friends and the public on Saturday, 29th June 2019. 6:30-9:00pm at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center. Trips and ToursJoin UK Opera Director Dr Everett McCorvey and UK Opera Coach Dr Tedrin Blair Lindsay for this once-in-a-lifetime 6-day/5 night trip to St. Louis to enjoy all four productions of the St. Louis Opera Theatre’s 2019 season; Rigoletto, Marriage of Figaro, Fire Shut Up in My Bones, and Coronation of Poppea. Starring UK Opera Alumni Monica Dewey and Mary Hollis Hundley as well as American Spiritual Ensemble singer Karen Slack.
In addition to nightly opera attendance there will be an opportunity to visit the St. Louis Art Museum, renowned for one of the finest collections of original works of art spanning five millennia and six continents. Tour the 79-acre Missouri Botanical Garden, an oasis in the city and the nation’s oldest botanical garden in continuous operation. Ride to the top of the famous Gateway Arch. Relax on a leisurely paddle-boat cruise up the mighty Mississippi, watch a St. Louis Cardinal's baseball game and enjoy a behind-the-scene with St. Louis Opera cast and directors. Mobile Gallery
The Mobile Gallery is a annual tax-deductible subscription service. Original local and regional artwork is rotated through corporate spaces with new artwork(s) being installed every three months,
Subscribers receive original works of art all created by Kentucky artists. Blank walls are refreshed and reinvigorated with corporate-appropriate artwork, often inspiring lively conversations. At the same time artists benefit from the opportunity to exhibit and offer their work for sale. Arts Connect, a non-profit organization, is able to provide the Mobile Gallery program as an annual tax-deductible subscription service. |
